Political Immunization

Political Immunization: The application of legislation that creates the illusion of change, despite FAILING to advance Liberty.
Picture
Political Immunization is one of the greatest threats to Liberty at present.
Political immunization wastes precious resources.
Political immunization breeds political apathy.
If you had asked me 5 years ago if I had thought that I would be leading a statewide effort to protect Medical Liberty for Hoosiers, and that it would involve being a political activist I would have laughed in your face.

I was stricken with apathy, and that lack of desire to participate was driven by the fact that I didn't think that my voice mattered. I didn't believe that I could make a difference.

Political apathy keeps good people from taking action and shaping their government. That is precisely why we cannot afford to let political immunization slip by unnoticed.

We must remain vigilant and work to pick the best possible political fights. We must be aware when others are trying to take the easy road, avoiding difficult conversations, or explaining why true medical liberty is "just unreasonable."

I refuse to sit by and watch as some try to pass political immunization as medical liberty.
Ready to create change?
Do you have a heart for medical liberty and a backbone of steel?
If so, consider running for office.
Candidate filing deadline is NOON February 6th, 2026.

We were disappointed to read Rep. Cash's legislation and see her bills were, at best, political immunization. They may actually be worse than that, but more on this later...

What really baffles us, is how someone who claims to be a strong medical liberty activist didn't sign on to Bruce Borders HB1334.

Some of her constituents reported her LA stating that it was because the bill still allows for mandates, even though her legislation does too. The defining difference between her political immunization and the 1334- representing bodily integrity, is that 1334 gives Hoosiers the right to simply say no AND protects them from retribution with fines and the ability to pursue civil action.
Even if we were to give Cash the benefit of the doubt in that she didn't read the bill, she still filed two bills that account to nothing more than political immunization.
Worse yet, this isn't the first time Cash has chosen Political Immunization over the people.
We saw similar behavior from Cash last year.

Political immunization is dangerous because it wastes precious resources, gives false hope, breeds political apathy, and delays medical liberty.

But it extends beyond that, political immunization allows dirty politicians to hide behind weak policies that change nothing. These politicians have no intention to protect medical liberty, but get to use these votes to pretend that they are fighting for medical liberty.
In short:
  1. HB 1071 Exceptions to required immunizations- NOT MOVING THE NEEDLE ON LIBERTY. Expands on exemption language, including philosophical exemptions. Does not prevent discrimination or adverse actions. Not enforceable- there is no penalty for those who break the law. What is the point of creating a law that is not enforceable? It also has a NEGATIVE IMPACT ON LIBERTY. Currently, when using an exemption you do not have to disclose your medical records or which vaccinations you are opting out of. This bill changes the current law so you must report all immunizations when using an exemption. (Pg 5 line 10)
  2. HB 1072 Student immunizations- NOT MOVING THE NEEDLE ON LIBERTY. Allows exemptions for students in medical profession programs ONLY. This bill is an extremely limited population; it only applies to those in health profession education programs. This does not prevent rejection of a student from a clinical site. Clinical sites are at hospitals, clinics, and long term care facilities, which would not fall under the direction of this bill. If this bill were to pass, nothing would change because the state educational institution would shift the blame to the clinical site. This is already an issue plaguing students.

Not only do these bills provide political exemption to Cash and others who would like to claim being an advocate for medical liberty, 1071 removes liberty already stated in the code.

I hope that you will follow the call to action above, because taking political immunization is now becoming a habit for Cash.

Last year, 2023, Cash had the opportunity protect liberty and add transparency into SB4. SB4 was once called "the Governor's Public Health Commission" and now called "Health First Indiana."

This was our major battle last year and everyone, including the establishment, knew it. Even Rep. Brad Barrett, chair of the public health committee, drew attention to the videos and concerns presented by H4ML.

Rep Cash and I had several conversations about this bill and the negative impacts it would have on liberty.

Rep Cash authored five (5) different amendments at the request of H4ML with varying degrees of importance. Though Cash knew the meaning of each amendment and the importance of each, she chose to call down the weakest, most meaningless amendment, which was never even intended to be "called".

I was there waiting during the bill hearing. When I heard her call down amendment number eleven, I was devastated.

Was Cash going soft on medical liberty?
Was she feeling the pressure from leadership?
Was she getting bad advice from someone?

I did not, and still don't, understand why she would call this amendment.

The amendment passed and the Indiana State legislature got a small dose of "political immunization."

While it does require health departments to educate individuals on VICP, CICP, VAERS, and the state registry, it really doesn't do anything new. Educating on these programs is federally required with the exception of the state registry.

I walked down from the galley and caught Cash's attention as she proudly walked from the podium securing her first shot of political immunization.

I motioned her out in the hall way and told her to go call down number nine, the "Transparency" amendment. This amendment would have required any county opting into Public Health Coercion funding to be made aware of the terms and conditions of the funding, as well as the opt out procedure, and the expected health metrics.

This simple amendment would have added transparency, but Cash refused to ensure counties knew what they were agreeing to, before they agreed.

Cash refused, referencing her own county commissioner and I stated, "What about the rest of the state?"

She shrugged her shoulders and went back into the house chamber, realizing her political immunization was not going to work on me.

Cash had other amendments that would have been beneficial. I will list them below:

Genetic Product Labeling- modeled after language from Missouri requiring labeling of anything that may contain mRNA technology. (Also filed by Rep Sweet)

Indiana Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System- Creating a reporting system for the state creating statewide tracking and investigation of adverse events. (Filed by Sweet as well.)

Less impactful, but would have been better than amendment eleven that she called:
Basic tracking of VAERS reports in Indiana- to improve investigation of adverse events. These are not currently tracked by the state.

I don't pretend that being a legislator is easy work. There are many times where I actually defend and explain what they are going to go up against.
However, when you run on medical liberty, when you commit to authoring bills and amendments for medical liberty, you should honor those commitments.
Rep Cash made those commitments before her election in 2022.

Rep Cash is now a voice for the establishment rather than the people seeking medical liberty.

How can constituents have faith in the legislator, or the legislature as a whole, when something so foundational to an individuals campaign is abandoned?
